Is Your Child Safe? Companies Recall Unsafe Products

The slings could result in suffocation due to the soft fabric and the high chairs could cause a child to fall due to the failure of screws and brackets. More Details

Truck Drivers Must Slow Down in Rainy Weather
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations require that all commercial truck drivers use "extreme caution" in hazardous weather conditions. Missouri's Commercial Drivers Manual provides that truckers should slow down by as much as one-third of their normal and customary speed during hazardous conditions.
Federal Law and trucking industry practice includes rain, fog, snow, ice and wind as hazardous conditions. Rain is, however, the most common weather problem for commercial motor vehicles. Visibility is reduced as is traction, which can lead to hydroplaning.
Unfortunately, truckers in Missouri and elsewhere do not always exercise the extreme caution that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations require. Drivers who continue to travel at the posted speed limit during hazardous conditions are acting recklessly and are violating their mandatory safety duties and obligations. If a collision results from the drivers failure to follow the safety regulations during extreme weather conditions, liability can be imposed on the driver and his employer to compensate injured persons and their families because of such reckless and careless conduct. Metal Hip Implants are Failing
In the last 10 years hip implant manufacturers have been heavily promoting metal-on-metal hip implants, stating that these implants will last longer than the previously used plastic or ceramic components, as reported by the New York Times. Many patients are having failure of the metal implants within two-five years, requiring additional surgery to repair the problems.
Deputy, a division of Johnson & Johnson, has actually withdrawn its metal-on-metal implants because of the high failure rate. The exact cause of the failures is being investigated, but it is likely caused by metallic debris resulting in bone, muscle and other soft tissue damage.
Specialist are aware of the issues metal-on-metal implants can cause, but other doctors are not. If you have had medical problems resulting from a metal-on-metal hip implant and would like to speak with an attorney, please contact us at the link or phone number listed above.
